Pantry Reboot: A Step-by-Step Guide to Stocking a Healthy Pantry

In my experience, the initial phase of embarking on a healthy lifestyle can either be exhilarating or exhausting. The latter often results in a quick burnout—you get too overwhelmed with the process of lifestyle change and, defeatedly, go back to old unhealthy habits.

At Whole Body Health, we want to make healthy living exciting and easy to incorporate into your daily life. It’s for this reason we have monthly, free Weston A. Price meetings—to guide you through the process. This month we did a lecture on the “11 Principles of a Healthy Traditional Diet” in which we outlined the fundamentals of a healthy diet. These principles are as follows:

  • No refined or denatured foods
  • Contains some animal products
  • Nutrient density
  • Contains some raw foods
  • High levels of enzymes and beneficial bacteria
  • Sprouted seeds, grains, and nuts
  • Low in polyunsaturated (vegetable fats)
  • Equal amounts of Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids
  • Contains some unrefined salt
  • Contains bone broth
  • Provisions for future generations

I know what you’re probably thinking: “What use are these ‘principles’ if I don’t know how to incorporate them into my busy lifestyle? Where do I go from here?”

The first step is ridding your refrigerator and pantry of harmful foods, and replacing them with healing foods. Outlined below is a pantry reboot to get you started. This is going to be easier and less expensive than you might initially expect because as you replace harmful foods with nutrient rich foods, you will be less hungry while regaining energy and vitality.
