The average pH of soft drinks is 2.5, and the mouth should maintain a slightly alkaline pH of 7.2. After consuming sugary drinks or food, for one hour the enamel on the teeth becomes weaker as the sugar neutralizes the phosphates in the teeth and the pH drops. During this hour, teeth should not be brushed or worked on or else they will be easily damaged. This is opposite to what most of us have learned.
Biological dentists should routinely measure the pH of patients’ teeth, and if the pH is lower than 6.5 the patient should be recommended to avoid all refined sugar. This will increase the pH and allow the teeth to remineralize, helping the patient avoid painful and expensive dental work.
Whole Body Health pH Analysis
Measure your urine and saliva first thing in the morning before you have eaten or drank any water.
Record the pH using the charts below.
- If the saliva is acidic (below 7.0), you are not eating enough minerals (alkaline ash foods) or digesting your minerals properly.
- If the urine is alkaline (above 7.0), you could be losing minerals through your urine. This is also a possible indicator of your colon having an overgrowth of bad bacteria/parasites which only thrive in an alkaline colon environment.
